Monday 7th September 2026 for 5 days, half board
First day Visiting historic town of Newark-on-Trent and arriving at the Best Western (PLUS) Hotel, Milford
Second day visiting the magnificent Castle Howard the well-known filming location for Brideshead Revisited.
Third day Visiting Emmerdale village of Ottley and the picturesque town of Ilkley. Also relaxing on a narrowboat cruise on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. The commentary is provided by TV’s award-winning comedian Dave Spikey.
Fourth day Visiting Ripon and the Yorkshire Dales and to “Calendar Girls Country” and the idyllic Pateley Bridge. The day concludes with a ride on the real Embsay & Bolton Abbey Heritage Railway seen in Emmerdale and other TV & film productions
Fifth day Vising the historic market town of Melton Mowbray known as the “Rural Capital of Food” famous for Stilton Cheese and Pork Pies. Then onto Rutland Water and back to the Great North Road and back to Essex.
Includes 4 nights half-board (dinner, B & B) in en-suite bedrooms, ground floor rooms (no lift) accessible room, visits on outward and return journeys. Entrance to Castle Howard & Gardens, fare for Skipton canal trip, Embsay/Bolton Abbey train fare (single)
